Inspiration: More Flower Love

5.15.2016
Oh my. I just feel like I am wasting away. All the work at the end of the school year (and my undergrad career) is making my stomach hurt. I know it'll all be over soon and I'm doing my best to stay calm. Today I found some lovely things that I wanted to share. These kinds of things help me remember there is life beyond my immediate situation. I mean that literally: this is all about plants--living, growing, inspiring.
The first thing is a series called "Great Gardens" by Nowness. It is just a collection of videos of great gardens. The films are so beautifully shot and the voices of the owners and landscapers are so calming and passionate. This series is amazing and it makes me want to drop out right now and help them make these. Also: did you know there is a career called "Garden Writing"? What have I been doing all this time if not that?

The second is the Pentecost Rose Petal Ceremony at the Pantheon in Rome. It symbolizes the descent of the Holy Spirit. Is this not one of the most magical things ever?

And lastly, some farmer's market flowers from my love feat. my rose gold Garrett Leight sunnies. This arrangement was too pretty to not take a picture of it. Trying to stay positive by surrounding myself with flowers and life for the next three weeks. And then freedom shall ring.

For the Love of Flowers

4.17.2016
I went home to NorCal this weekend. I wanted to see all the flowers in bloom so I made the seven hour drive with Ian. Oh my god the place is beautiful. I live in LA for now, but I just don't know how long I can deny how much I need to be where the trees and flowers are. Those little white flowers that look like little bells are called Fairy Lanterns and I've only ever seen them where I live. This year there were HUNDREDS of them, and my dad thinks I used magic to grow so many of them. It felt magical...I put a lot of energy into calling upon them and then to see that many was incredible. We also visited a nursery that had at least a thousand calla lilies lining their creek. Ugh it all just felt magical and right. I miss home already.

I stopped by SLO to see my beautiful Maddy. SLO is soooo beautiful right now. We went to a nude beach with a cool cave and all the flowers are in bloom!

daphne blooming

My lovely Miss Matti knows flowers. And her favorite of all the flowers in the world is Daphne. It smells incredible (which I didn't know before this shoot, but now my car smells like it and god bless) but it also only blooms in the middle of winter. Here is this beautiful lady with lots of daphne in her hair.
