I finally finished the rest of my photos with Emma! I gasped when I saw this tree. It was so dark and mysterious so I styled Emma with just a long black piece of fabric acting as a dress to contrast with her skin and blond hair. I love how these turned out.

Pink Snow Nails
12.27.2014
For as obsessed I am with my nails, I really don't do much to take care of them. I love painting them and I love looking down and seeing long nails on my hands (I love hands in general) but I don't do much for them. So when I was sent some nail tips by the nail polish company Julep (and when I bought my mom a manicure set for Christmas) I actually started to think about how to better take care of my nails. I usually have long matte-painted nails or super sparkly ones (here and here) but I decided I would go for a little subtlety for winter. I cut them a little shorter than usual since they generally just grow long from my neglect. I stole a little of my mom's new cuticle oil, rubbed on some jasmine lotion to improve the overall health of my hands, and got to work on some powdery pink nails.
A note about the books: I have been having many conversations with myself about if I want to pursue a job in fashion and if I will feel fulfilled when doing so. I still don't know the answer, but I decided to consult some of the greats. Grace Coddington's memoir is especially interesting because I think creative direction is really what I would go into.
So for these nails I used a very light shade of pink polish. It took like 8 coats of that stuff but I finally made it to a really lovely pink base. I then applied a topcoat and pressed the powder onto it. I used this sparkley powder I got from ULTA ages ago and I never knew what it was for but it worked pretty well here, so I must have solved the mystery! I think the key was to just put a copious amount of powder on my fingers, let it dry, and wash my hands so it came off of my fingers and stayed on my nails. I actually really like the result and it seems that it was applied pretty evenly.

Christmas Magic
12.25.2014
I put on a sparkly and red Christmas outfit and my bro and I played with sparklers. This Christmas has just been so nice. A really great end to a rather tough year. I hope everyone had a great holiday!

Gift-Wrapping!
12.24.2014
I love getting people gifts and I LOVE wrapping gifts. I used brown paper and red berries this year, with a touch of glitter. I love the glitter in these vials I got from Michaels. They just look like magic in a bottle.
Merry Christmas Eve! Have a lovely holiday!

Up North
12.22.2014
This is why I was so excited to come back home for a while. My boyfriend came up for the weekend and we went up to the snow. It looks like an entirely different world up there. I love home. All of these photos were edited with VSCOCam just to try something new and I love the saturation in these edits when I did it on my phone, so I was like "sure yeah these can go on my blog". My VSCO username is Nibinquiel.

I never do makeup posts because I definitely do not think I am any kind of authority on makeup products. I generally have no idea what I am doing. But I have to show off my new discovery today. Purple eyeliner as lipstick. Hell yeah.

Anthropologie Confessions + Christmas Tag!
12.07.2014
So I have a secret. I worked at Anthropologie for a total of three weeks. I thought I wanted a retail job. I was wrong. It was okay, but just wow the hours sucked and I found myself wanting to be a part of the making of the gifts and clothes so much more than the selling of them. Sadly, that has meant a long period of unemployment while I finished my internship and job-hunted for other positions.
HOWEVER, that doesn't mean I haven't fallen in love with their most recent gift lookbook. Oh my goodness it is so dreamy. Here are a few of my favorite photos from it and a tag taken from Queen of Jet Lags!
Like seriously, these are gorgeous.
AND NOW!
- What is your favorite Christmas Movie? A Christmas Story will forever be the best Christmas movie, and maybe even one of the best movies in general.
- Have you ever had a white Christmas? I don't actually think so. It snows usually in the month of December at my house but never on Christmas. We had an 80 degree Christmas once.
- Where do you usually spend your holiday? HOME HOME HOME! Ain't nothin' like small-town Christmas.
- What is your favorite Christmas song? Baby It's Cold Outside. It's kind of a creepy song, maybe? But there is a version done by Brian Setzer and it's so good. Look it up.
- What is your all-time favorite holiday food/sweet treat? My grandma's fudge. It's actual heaven. Since her passing I have had to carry on the tradition and I hope I'm doing a decent job.
- Be honest: do you like giving or receiving gifts better? Giving! I love picking out things for people and wrapping presents.
- What makes the holidays special for you? Spending time with the people I love.
- What's your favorite makeup look for the festive season? Dark red lips and glitterrrrr.
- Real or fake tree? Real 5ever. We have been going to the same farm for years and I love going and running around their small forest of trees.
I haven't done a tag in aaaages but I am really getting into the Christmas spirit so I had to do this. You should do it too and link to it in the comments. :)

A Little Pinspiration for Ya
12.03.2014
I mostly post my own work on here, which I am very proud of. Every so often I do an inspo post, but this blog is mainly my own content. However, I wanted to do a little showing-off of my Pinterest. Because it's pretty darn beautiful. And it's kind of like curating, so there's still some creativity in it, right? I put together some moods boards (I haven't made a mood board since my good ol' Polyvore days) from the things on my Pinterest. If you like them, go follow me so I can follow back. :)
All photo sources on my Pinterest.
